In my pursuit of more efficient and cost-effective maintenance strategies for cleaning equipment, I've discovered a novel use for a common pool maintenance item—pool skimmer socks—that has transformed the way I maintain vacuum cleaners.

This works wonders, in 24 hours and a ton of gunk that could not see in the pool. This will save the sand filter from having to be backwashed. After pulling it out after 24 hours I just rinsed it off and reuse it, not sure how long each one will last but the 30 pack seems like it will last quite a few seasons.

I have a fair amount of leaves and debris that gets into my pool. The skimmer worked well but that meant the small stuff was headed to the filter. I found that for this skimmer that it worked really well to put the sock around the outside vs on the skimmer basket.
